RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance embedded Linux systems and BSPs for mission‑critical platforms in an onsite El Segundo setting. You will work with cross‑functional teams across FPGA, hardware, and software domains to deliver secure, high‑reliability software for advanced communications and data processing systems.

The role requires strong C/C++, Bash, Python, and Linux expertise, plus board bring‑up and debugging skills.

Formación

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• Proficiency with embedded C/C++ and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with embedded Linux device drivers and board bring‑up.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and enhance embedded Linux OS ecosystem (kernel, rootfs, bootloader, BSP).
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, and support for embedded Linux software systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve hardware‑software issues.
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms, and target hardware.
• Collaborate with Collins Aerospace processes and tools to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for features.
