Job summary

RTX in El Segundo seeks an experienced embedded Linux engineer to design, develop and sustain our Linux OS ecosystem, including build toolchains, kernel, BSPs and drivers for diverse hardware. You will contribute to tooling, build pipelines, and debugging across hardware and software, while ensuring quality and security through Collins Aerospace processes. U.S.

government clearance is required prior to start. Active and transferable clearance is required on day one; U.S.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility.
• Proficiency with embedded C/C++.
• Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience with embedded Linux device drivers.
• Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration.
• Experience with debugging using logic analyzers and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance Linux OS ecosystem; maintain build toolchain, kernel, BSPs and drivers.
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software.
• Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of hardware-software issues.
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms and target hardware.
• Follow Collins Aerospace processes to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits.
