Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead design, development and integration of advanced software for aerospace systems. You will mentor engineers and collaborate across IPTs to meet demanding performance and mission requirements.

You will own the Linux OS ecosystem, build toolchains, kernel, drivers, and BSPs; contribute to embedded Linux software and root-cause analysis for hardware/software issues. This is an on-site role with relocation support.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 8+ years experience or related advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with Linux, embedded Linux device drivers, and board bring-up.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages; hardware/software integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance embedded Linux software for aerospace systems.
• Lead root cause analysis and resolve hardware-software issues.
• Prepare builds for simulation, reference platforms, and target hardware.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across IPTs to meet mission requirements.
