Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and maintain embedded Linux systems for mission-critical hardware in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will own build toolchains, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, and BSP for diverse boards.

You will work with engineers across FPGA, hardware and system teams to embed advanced tech into our product portfolio, emphasizing Linux-based solutions and secure processing.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM or advanced degree with 3+ years of embedded Linux experience.
• Experience as a command line user of Linux is required.
• Experience in embedded C/C++ and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance a customized Linux OS ecosystem for multiple hardware boards.
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, and support for embedded Linux software systems.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve hardware-software issues.
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms and target hardware.
• Follow Collins Aerospace processes to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to task estimates and change requests.
