Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer for a hybrid role based in Moon Township, PA. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates within the United States.

You will design and develop embedded firmware for next generation control and monitoring systems integrated with Eaton’s circuit breaker products. You will work with global teams and contribute to continuous improvement, testing, and documentation while addressing product quality and customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on embedded software development experience including multi‑controller systems (C/C++, RTOS) and low‑level hardware interfaces (ADC, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C).
• Experience with Agile development, CI/CD, and automated testing tools is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with cybersecurity standards and functional safety requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex embedded firmware design, development and testing tasks.
• Plan work in detail at the individual level and coordinate with the larger development team.
• Review work in formal design and quality reviews.
• Test own work and others to meet quality and reliability goals.
• Develop deep technical expertise in embedded software design and become a subject matter expert over time.
• Address product quality, customer and production issues in a timely manner.
• Support and develop test suite tools for verification and stress testing.
• Participate in process improvement.
