Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer in Irvine, CA to drive development of MANET radios and advanced research projects. You will work on device drivers, networking, encryption, and security features on ARM-based platforms.

The role is onsite, with responsibilities spanning kernel-level driver work, MAC and routing software, and Linux-based networking stacks in a defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded firmware development using embedded Linux on ARM processors.
• Experience designing and developing firmware for networking, signal processing and/or wireless applications.
• Expertise in C programming and Linux kernel driver development.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development of low-latency embedded firmware on ARM-based SoCs.
• Develop MAC and MANET routing protocol software components.
• Build network management software and web interfaces.
• Implement security protocols and encryption algorithms.
• Develop audio streaming and push-to-talk applications.
• Ensure compliance with security standards like NIST FIPS 140-3 and NIAP CC.
• Create testing software for performance and reliability.
• Develop device drivers and BSPs for ARM and RISC-V systems.
• Customize Linux and write scripts for system tasks.
