Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Principal Embedded Security Engineer to advance the security of MANET radios and related research projects. You will contribute across device drivers, networking, encryption, and security features, guiding security strategy within software engineering teams.

Based in West Los Angeles, this full-time role follows a hybrid schedule with three onsite days weekly.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of embedded software experience OR HS Diploma with 14+ years embedded software experience.
• Expertise in C/C++ programming.
• Expertise with cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and libraries (AES, TLS, SSL, IPsec, MACsec, VPN, DMVPN, HMAC, DSA).
• Experience programming on Linux OS.
• Strong IP networking knowledge (L2/L3).
• U.S. Citizenship required for this role due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze regulatory requirements (NIST FIPS 140-3, NIAP CC, NSA CNSA) and drive security design.
• Define security requirements and system designs aligned with regulatory and customer needs.
• Lead FIPS 140-3 and CSfC certification activities for StreamCaster products.
• Improve product security with industry best practices.
• Collaborate with external security evaluation teams to close gaps.
• Implement and test various security protocols and encryption algorithms.
