Job summary

Serco is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer to join onsite NSWC PCD in Panama City, FL. Lead mixed-signal hardware design, integrate microcontrollers, and drive full product lifecycle from schematic to prototype bring-up.

You will use Altium/OrCAD/Xpedition, perform SPICE simulations, ensure EMI/EMC compliance, and collaborate with a diverse engineering team on critical defense projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5 years of related experience; Masters may substitute 2 years.
• Active Interim Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• US Citizenship.
• Experience with mixed-signal hardware design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mixed-signal hardware systems including microcontrollers (Arduino, ATmega, PIC, ESP32, etc.), power management systems, and sensor interfaces.
• Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using Altium, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, KiCad, or Siemens Xpedition.
• Ensure adherence to signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance.
• Implement microprocessors in designs using C/C++.
• Run simulations with LTspice, Pspice, or equivalents.
• Assemble, test, and bring up hardware prototypes.
• Utilize lab equipment to verify performance against specs.
• Develop hardware test plans, thermal and reliability testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues down to component level.
• Create and maintain design docs, BOMs, schematics, and user instructions.
