Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at the Panama City Beach Naval Surface Warfare Center site. You will develop real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and platforms across Windows, Linux, and VxWorks, performing full SDLC tasks.

You will work on multiple Navy projects, contribute to design specifications, and collaborate with hardware teams while supporting continuous integration and deployments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or EE and 5+ years of work experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Java.
• RTOS experience (Linux, VxWorks).
• Hardware knowledge: microcontrollers, TCP/IP, Modbus, schematics.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking and communication skills.
• Experience with technical reports, interface documents, and presentations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work with hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop optimized embedded code for microcontrollers and processors across the full SDLC.
• Perform unit, integration, and system testing; troubleshoot and debug embedded systems.
• Create technical manuals, design specs, and maintain code documentation.
• Lead team members in Agile software development and support program manager on technical issues.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and software configuration management.
