Job summary

Serco is seeking an Experienced Electronics Technician to join the NSWC PCD program on-site in Panama City, FL. You will contribute to unmanned systems hardware development, from design to bring-up, with rigorous testing and documentation requirements.

Applicants should have substantial embedded hardware experience, strong C/C++, and familiarity with mixed-signal design, signaling integrity, and EMI/EMC practices. A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required or possible to obtain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• 5 years of related experience in embedded hardware design and full product lifecycle development.
• Masters degree can substitute for 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mixed-signal hardware systems including microcontrollers and power management.
• Create schematics and run PCB layouts using industry-standard tools.
• Ensure signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Implement microprocessors into designs using C/C++.
• Run simulations with LTspice, PSpice or equivalent.
• Assemble, test, and bring up hardware prototypes.
• Use lab equipment to verify performance against specs.
• Develop hardware test plans including thermal and reliability tests.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues down to component level.
• Create engineering documentation like BOMs and schematics.
