Job summary

Serco Inc. in Florida seeks an Experienced Electrical Engineer to join the NSWC PCD team onsite. You will lead mixed-signal hardware design, develop schematics and PCB layouts, and ensure EMI/EMC and signal integrity across the lifecycle of unmanned systems.

The role requires a strong background in digital/analog circuits, embedded C/C++, and hands-on lab work. Candidates must be eligible for an interim clearance and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Active Interim Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of similar/related experience.
• 3 years embedded hardware design experience in full product lifecycle.
• Experience with PCB/layout tools: Altium, Xpedition, OrCAD/Allegro.
• Strong digital and analog circuit design fundamentals.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232/485, CAN, Ethernet, USB.
• Hands-on with lab equipment for debugging and characterization.
• Moderate proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• EMI/EMC mitigation knowledge.
• Fiber optic system components integration understanding.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mixed-signal hardware systems including microcontrollers and power management.
• Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using industry tools.
• Ensure adherence to signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance.
• Implement microprocessors into designs using C/C++.
• Run test simulations using Spice software.
• Assemble, test, and bring-up hardware prototypes.
• Utilize lab equipment to verify performance.
• Develop hardware test plans including thermal and reliability testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues down to component level.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs and schematics.
