Job summary

BACKBONE is seeking a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer (m/f/d) in Vienna. You will develop electronic circuits and assemblies from concept to demonstrator, create schematics and PCB layouts with Altium Designer and KiCad, and select components while evaluating new technologies.

The role involves hands-on prototyping, measurements, and close collaboration with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to deliver robust hardware solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with hardware focus.
• 5+ years in electronics/hardware development, R&D or prototyping.
• Strong PCB design experience in Altium or KiCad.
• Experience with analog/digital circuit design and MCUs.

Responsibilities

• Develop electronic circuits and assemblies from concept to demonstrator.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium KiCad.
• Select components and evaluate technologies for hardware.
• Build, debug, and measure prototypes; perform fault analysis.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, and systems teams.
