Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Cleared Senior/Principal R&D Electromechanical Systems Test Technologist, onsite, to support system‑level testing for advanced weapon programs. You will operate testers, fabricate components, calibrate equipment, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliability and safety in high‑visibility projects.

Requires an Associate degree or equivalent plus hands‑on experience with electrical test gear and the ability to obtain DOE Q

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant STEM field or equivalent (4 years of directly related experience).
• Experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multi‑meters, etc.).
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent with the ability to obtain and maintain Sigma 15 access.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain system‑level testers and electrical test equipment in support of weapon development and qualification.
• Collaborate closely with Tester Engineers and Testing Engineers to ensure test systems meet program requirements.
• Fabricate, modify, and assemble tester components, cables, and related hardware to support evolving test needs.
• Apply hands‑on fabrication and electrical skills to improve testing processes and equipment reliability.
• Assist in the calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of testers to maintain optimal performance and accuracy.
• Prioritize safety and attention to detail in all tasks.
