Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a cleared Senior/Principal Electromechanical Technologist for Nuclear Stockpile Support, onsite, in New Mexico. You will join the Navy Systems Tech Basis team to assist in design, development, and qualification activities that support the reliability and safety of the nation’s nuclear deterrent.

Your day-to-day includes hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electronic hardware, plus inventory control using Aras and collaboration

Qualifications

• Associate degree in STEM or a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent with the ability to participate in random polygraph testing.

Responsibilities

• Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory of critical assets using hardware management systems such as Aras.
• Collaborate with engineers to define and execute tasks independently or as part of a high‑performing team.
• Perform hands‑on assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and soldering on complex system‑level mechanical and electronic hardware.
• Support environmental testing activities, setting up mechanical systems, and operating functional testers to ensure proper electrical connections.
