Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer to design and deploy sophisticated test systems in a nuclear-weapon-related research environment. You will develop analog and digital circuitry, build and qualify custom hardware, and collaborate with experts to ensure safety and reliability of the stockpile.

Onsite in Albuquerque, NM with some travel; active DOE Q clearance or equivalent is required or anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance and Sigma 15 access.
• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is desirable.
• Experience with or willingness to learn Mentor Graphics Xpedition.

Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, qualify, and deploy advanced tester systems.
• Develop data‑collection systems for diverse signals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals.
• Lead or mentor engineers on complex design tasks.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements and safety standards.
