Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an Electromechanical Technologist to support the Light Initiated High Explosives (LIHE) facility, collaborating with engineers and technologists to enable safe, effective testing and data collection.

The role requires an Associate degree in a STEM field plus relevant experience and may require a DOE Q clearance. Candidates will work onsite in New Mexico and contribute to complex test setups and reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate¿s degree in a STEM or related field plus 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with hand tools and mechanical equipment or in a laboratory environment.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent is required to start.

Responsibilities

• Support research for environmental testing with LIHE.
• Design, integrate and implement equipment and process solutions to address technical problems as part of the LIHE Team.
• Contribute to testing setups, enabling safe operations for this testing.
• Work individually and with a coordinated team on projects.
• Collaborate with Principal Investigators and staff to set up and perform testing, data acquisition, and reporting of results.
• Operate in a meticulous environment emphasizing worker health, safety, and safeguards.
