Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Distinguished Electromechanical Technologist to join the Equipment Lifecycle Management team. This role encompasses supporting PIE projects, installation upgrades, and troubleshooting advanced equipment systems onsite in a demanding lab environment.

You will lead teams, mentor staff, and apply high-precision engineering to critical infrastructure challenges, requiring creativity and strong collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 8+ years of directly related experience.
• Experience in equipment installations, characterizations, and utility requirements.
• Experience in high dollar/high consequence equipment moves/installations.
• Experience investigating problems affecting systems and recommending solutions.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent to start.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties in support of Equipment Lifecycle Management projects and PIE.
• Lead projects requiring knowledge of equipment mechanics and process performance.
• Research, collect data, analyze results and develop solutions for equipment challenges.
• Mentor staff and management as required.
