Vertiv Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) is a full-time role based in Texas, with up to 75% travel on regional and national projects. The engineer tests electrical power systems up to 500 kV, interprets diagrams, and leads testing teams to ensure reliability and safety across critical infrastructure.

The position requires NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of experience, and proficiency with test equipment.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read/interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on gear.
• Interpret results and write engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time constraints; mentor junior techs.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams; ensure safety compliance.
