Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. The role requires extensive field experience, NETA certification, and the ability to lead multi-discipline project teams.

Responsibilities include conducting power studies, testing protective relays, and producing detailed engineering reports. Up to 75% travel around regional and national projects; full-time employment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
