Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. The role requires up to 75% travel and will base on regional/national project assignments.

You will interpret results, author detailed engineering reports, mentor Level I/II technicians, and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams, ensuring compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification required or in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective relay schemes.
• Proficient with test equipment including Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
