AES Corporation in Dayton, OH is seeking a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversee complex testing and engineering projects focused on substation equipment and protective relaying systems.

You will train technicians, support testing activities (relay, power factor, meggering, hi-pot, TTR, SFRA), and help ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical testing.
• PE license preferred or SME status.

Responsabilités

• Lead technician training and development programs across substation equipment, protective relaying systems, transformers, breakers, reclosers, regulators, capacitors, batteries, RTUs, and related equipment.
• Provide hands-on training and support for testing and commissioning activities including relay testing, power factor testing, contact resistance testing, ground grid testing, DGA/oil sampling, meggering, hi-pot testing, TTR, SFRA, trip testing, and other diagnostic processes.
• Review and analyze testing data, identify trends, evaluate equipment condition, recommend repairs or replacements, and support long-term maintenance planning.
• Provide on-site oversight to ensure safe, high-quality work and compliance with company procedures and standards.
