Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Staff Electrical System Architecture Engineer to drive low‑voltage architectures for EVs. You will lead trade studies, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and ensure power budgets and stability under challenging conditions.

The role requires strong experience in LV system design, ECU interfaces, and failure analysis, with a track record of delivering reliable, efficient systems in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid onsite work is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical system architectures in EVs (12V/48V).
• Familiar with CAN/LIN and system integration concepts.
• Strong debugging and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and launch next-gen low-voltage electrical architectures for EVs.
• Lead trade studies to optimize architecture for cost and performance.
• Map power generation, distribution and load management for LV stability.
• Review interfaces and device transmittals for architecture changes.
• Perform power budget analysis to ensure margins under worst cases.
• Develop load shedding strategies to maintain LV bus stability.
• Conduct WCCA analyses to characterize system performance.
• Collaborate with LV subsystem teams to improve overall performance.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement interim and permanent actions.
• Stay current with latest EV system architecture technologies.
• Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams.
