Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction and estimating for National Mission Critical projects in Minneapolis. You will create cost models, lead staff estimates, and advise on value design and procurement.

The role requires depth in electrical construction, early procurement, and collaboration with architects, engineers, and clients to shape budgets and bid strategies. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience).
• At least 10 years of proven experience in commercial/electrical construction (Mission Critical Data Center experience preferred).
• Preconstruction experience with an Electrical subcontractor.
• Experience with early procurement of scopes/equipment.
• Experience evaluating sustainable initiatives for Electrical Systems.
• Understand construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods.

Responsibilities

• Work with project managers to develop conceptual and detailed estimates for Electrical scope at design stages.
• Scope, compare and select subcontractors based on value and project requirements.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing and evaluate for budgeting and bids.
• Perform quantity take-offs of all Electrical systems and record final estimates.
• Support preconstruction with value design, costs, schedule, procurement and pursuits.
• Train Cost Engineers and Project Management staff in preconstruction best practices.
• Provide direction on Electrical scope, market pricing and resources.
• Assist clients with conceptual budgets and early project planning.
• Communicate scope inclusions and delineation clearly to team members.
