Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead electrical power generation design for utility-scale and renewable energy projects. You will act as Owner’s Engineer/Advisor, directing a multi-disciplinary team and mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires a strong background in three-phase power, protection, control design, grounding, and related instrumentation. Travel is expected to be under 10% for site visits and client meetings.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with electrical power emphasis.
• PE license (Professional Engineers) required.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical power generation design.
• Experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.

Responsibilities

• Lead power generation design projects for utility-scale and renewable energy.
• Direct activities of engineering professionals and mentor staff on multi-discipline teams.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with clients and vendors during design reviews and site visits (<10% travel).
