Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead utility-scale power generation design projects, including natural gas and renewables. The role focuses on owner’s engineer and advisory services, mentoring staff, and managing client relationships across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in three-phase power, protection and control design, grounding, and balance of plant systems. Travel <10% and strong communication are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited Engineering degree with Electrical Power emphasis.
• 15+ years in electrical power generation design (preferred).
• Experience with simple/combined cycle power plants and power systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams on power generation design projects for utility-scale and renewables.
• Mentor engineers and manage client relationships and proposals.
• Develop and review power system studies, grounding, and protection designs.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on reviews and planning.
