Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead utility-scale power generation design and related Owner's Engineer activities. You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and help develop proposals and project scopes for traditional and renewable energy projects.

The role emphasizes leadership across multi‑discipline teams, with a focus on power plant systems, protection, grounding, and design reliability. Travel is limited, primarily for meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience
• Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license
• Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Power Market Sector design software (e.g. PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit)
• Active participant in employee-owned culture

Responsibilities

• Lead teams for power generation design projects
• Mentor other engineers and manage client relationships
• Lead marketing activities including proposal writing, fee builds and WBS development
• Provide engineer‑of‑record design for power plant systems and related balance‑of‑plant work
• Coordinate with Project Manager on project reviews and management
