Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Senior Electrical Low Voltage Estimator to lead bid development for electrical projects. You will prepare estimates from take-offs, review specs, and coordinate with subs and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CM or engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years estimating experience.
• Experience with Accubid, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam preferred.
• CAD or 3D software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off and complete estimate to printout.
• Identify parts of project that may be key to a competitive estimate.
• Review proposal specs, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work.
• Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.
• Provide leadership to personnel preparing sub estimates for bids.
• Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on site conditions and historical data.
• Prepare detailed listing of material and equipment items for the estimate and to obtain quotes.
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes; review quotes for completeness.
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects.
• Prior to issuing the formal bid package, review scope, technical requirements, and pricing with the Chief Estimator.
• After bid turnover, meet with Project Management to explain job scope and transition steps.
• Maintain files backing up estimate figures and update estimating program.
