Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. seeks a Senior Estimator to lead bid and cost estimation for electrical construction projects. You will prepare detailed estimates, coordinate with estimators, suppliers, and customers to finalize bid packages and ensure compliance with plans and specs.

You will review drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and drive value engineering. Travel up to 10% is required and the employer highlights ESOP and performance-based bonuses within a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Estimate all types of projects and coordinate/supervise group effort
• Mentor and assist with the development of Estimators
• Identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Prioritize/manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing requirements
• Oral and written communication skills as required
• Self-motivated, proactive and a team player
• Interact professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off on project and complete estimate to computer printout.
• Identify parts of project key to a competitive estimate.
• Review proposal specs/drawings and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope and contents of estimate.
• Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings.
• Provide leadership to personnel preparing discipline sub estimates for bids.
• Ensure all working documents/back-up data are maintained for estimates.
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on site conditions/history.
• Prepare detailed listing of material and equipment items to obtain quotes.
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes.
• Review quotes for completeness/conformance with plans and specs.
• Draft scope/ proposal letters for bid/negotiated projects.
• Provide Chief Estimator with detailed review of scope/requirements/pricing before bid package.
