Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking an Electrical Team Lead to drive the design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for nuclear materials processing, waste treatment, storage, and commercial nuclear plants.

You will lead engineers and designers, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements, and prepare calculations and drawings while mentoring junior staff and advancing professional licensure goals.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• BSEE from ABET-accredited program; MSEE preferred.
• Willingness to pursue P.E. licensure.
• Ability to obtain a DOE “Q” level clearance.
• 12+ years in electrical engineering design for power/DOE/nuclear projects.
• 3+ years leading an engineering design team.
• Experience reviewing design drawings and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Act as Electrical team lead coordinating detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Lead efforts to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Coordinate systems design to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare and review detailed electrical calculations (arc flash, voltage drop, fault current, lighting).
• Prepare input documentation for drawings (master diagrams/schematics).
• Interface with vendors on purchase specifications and recommendations.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Perform independent reviews of others’ work and calculations.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and share knowledge.
• Drive career development through Communities of Practice.
