Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks an I&E Designer to perform complete electrical and instrumentation design for complex projects. This role requires 8+ years of industrial experience and will operate under general supervision from the Beaumont Office.

Responsibilities include producing installation details, MCC and switchgear specifications, and wiring calculations, with oversight from discipline leads and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or CAD drafting is required.
• 8+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design.
• Familiarity with NEC and electrical design standards.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations and voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for lighting and power.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray; calculate tray/conduit fill.
• Ability to determine MCC loading; develop equipment specs for 480VAC and 15kV/5kV.
• Produce electrical installation specifications with engineering review.
• Lead small teams and deliver on commitments.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and CAD tools.
• Good communication and virtual team skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete design of complex electrical and instrumentation assignments under supervision.
• Produce installation details and electrical diagrams per standards.
• Support project team with scope, specifications and design criteria.
• Assist on-site startup and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Coordinate work with discipline leads and other staff.
• Develop 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specifications with review.
