Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA-accredited independent electrical testing and engineering firm serving North America. The Senior Field Technician will lead crews, manage complex testing and maintenance projects, and act as the primary interface with customers and engineering teams across substations and high-/low-voltage equipment.

The role emphasizes advanced technical expertise, leadership, and project coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen is required.
• Criminal background check completed satisfactorily.
• Overtime and travel to sites may be required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and PPE usage; lead daily safety briefings.
• Lead crews in testing, inspection, maintenance, and commissioning of high/medium/low voltage equipment.
• Install, test, and maintain breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, batteries, and switchgear.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of electrical/control systems and identify root causes.
• Analyze test results and validate system performance against specifications.
• Consult schematics and manuals to optimize equipment functionality.
• Direct repair and maintenance activities for reliable restoration.
• Develop testing plans and work scopes for activities; prepare detailed reports.
• Lead large-scale projects and coordinate field activities to meet schedule and quality goals.
• Train and mentor Field Technician I-III; provide technical leadership.
• Coordinate daily activities with engineers, PMs, and other stakeholders for project success.
• Act as primary field point of contact for customers and maintain professional relationships.
