Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead pricing for electrical scopes across commercial, renewable energy, substation, and battery storage projects.

You will perform detailed quantity take-offs, review drawings and specs, and support design analysis to ensure competitive estimates. You will collaborate with engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to clarify scope and schedule, price value alternatives, and contribute to hard bids, negotiated bids, and GMP

Qualifications

• Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• General knowledge of electrical principles and processes.
• Experience with negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
• Familiarity with estimating tools such as OST, Accubid, and BIM software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong math, analytical, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and collaborative work style.
• Demonstrates McCarthy core values and value-added estimating.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity take-offs for electrical scopes.
• Prices and bids commercial, renewable, substation, and battery storage projects.
• Supports electrical system design analysis and scope clarification.
• Communicates with engineers and consultants to define materials and schedule.
• Reviews electrical drawings, specs, calculations and studies.
• Conducts site visits and collaborates on value-adding opportunities.
• Prepares contractual exhibits and assists with change order pricing.
• Supports bid reviews and subcontractor coordination.
