Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead the detailed development and pricing of electrical scopes for commercial, renewable energy, substation, and battery storage projects.

The role collaborates with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to clarify scope, schedule, and material requirements and to support hard bid, negotiated, and GMP budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required.
• General knowledge of Electrical principles and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
• Experience with estimating technology and tools such as OST, Accubid, Traser, and BIM software.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity take-offs for electrical scopes across projects.
• Assists in pricing and bidding for commercial, renewable, substation, and battery storage projects.
• Supports electrical system design analysis and clarifications with engineers and consultants.
• Reviews electrical studies and performs design calculation reviews.
• Participates in hard bid, GMP budgeting, and subcontractor bid evaluations.
• Builds relationships with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
