Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and minimum of 2 years' equivalent experience required.
• General knowledge of Electrical principles and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
• Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as OST, Accubid, Tra-ser, and BIM related software.
• Excellent computer skills, and proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Attention to detail at a high level.
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrates behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values.
• Maintains a "value added" approach to estimating.

Responsibilities

• Support conceptual and detailed design of solar electrical systems.
• Challenge design concepts and present ideas to Precon team.
• Perform quantity take-offs and price/bid for projects.
• Assist in pricing/ bidding of commercial, renewable, substation and battery storage projects.
• Support electrical system design analysis.
• Communicate scope, materials, and schedule with engineers.
• Prepare qualifications and assumptions aligned with contract requirements.
• Design review of electrical drawings, specs, calculations, and studies.
• Review electrical studies; load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, arc flash.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as necessary.
• Price value-add opportunities during milestone design reviews.
• Participate in internal estimate reviews.
• Assist with final assembly of estimate for owner presentation.
• Collect and organize bid information for future reference.
• Assist field ops with change order pricing.
• Direct and coordinate subcontractors with information and documents.
• Prepare subcontract scope exhibits and contract docs for reviews.
• Support Design Build, Hard Bid and GMP budgeting with subcontractor input.
