Job summary

Rosendin Electric, Inc. seeks a Senior Estimator in Amarillo, TX to lead bid preparation for electrical construction projects. You will review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, develop cost estimates, and coordinate with suppliers and project teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and at least four years estimating experience required. Proficiency with Accubid, Livecount Cloud, Bluebeam, CAD/3D tools preferred. Rosendin offers ESOP and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Estimate all types of projects and coordinate and supervise group work effort
• Mentor and assist with the development of Estimators
• Identify and meet customers' needs, expectations, and requirements
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimate from quantity take-off on project and complete estimate to computer printout
• Identify parts of project that may be key to making a competitive estimate
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Evaluate areas for potential value engineering cost savings
• Provide leadership to personnel preparing discipline sub estimates for assigned bids
• Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data
• Prepare detailed listing of material and equipment items for the estimate and to obtain quotes
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes; review quotes for completeness and conformance
• Draft scope/proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Provide detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the bid package to the Chief Estimator
• Meet with Project Management to explain job scope for project turnover
• Maintain files of all working documents to back-up estimate figures and update Rosendin estimating program
