Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Staff Engineer – Electrical/VSD SME to lead multi-functional teams across regions, driving improvements in electrical systems and VSDs for data center chillers. This role requires deep electrical know-how and strong coordination with manufacturing, design and service groups.

The candidate will guide design and field teams, manage DFMEA/SFMEA activities, and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 8–10 years of related experience, or 15 years in HVAC or data-center applications.
• Proven ability to lead an execution team and coordinate resources.
• Strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate on multi-functional teams to drive continuous improvement of electrical systems and VSDs.
• Guide teams technically to resolve complex design and application issues.
• Coordinate DFMEA/SFMEA reviews, reliability test plans, and design for manufacturing.
• Develop service literature content and input training materials.
• Collaborate with global design, manufacturing and service groups to improve quality and cost.
