Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Staff Engineer – Chiller SME to lead multi-functional teams across regions to improve air-cooled screw chiller products used in Data Center and Mission Critical applications. The role requires deep mechanical and HVAC refrigerant design expertise and the ability to guide teams technically.

You will engage in DFMEA/SFMEA, design reviews, and reliability testing, while generating training content and service literature.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; 8–10 years in HVAC or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead an execution team and coordinate resources.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
• Six Sigma and multilingual English plus Spanish/Chinese preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Resolve complex design and application issues in chillers.
• Develop DFMEA/SFMEA and design reviews.
• Create service literature and training content.
• Collaborate across global design, manufacturing, and service teams.
