Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Mechanical Product Engineer to drive the next generation of high-performance data center chillers. You will lead design, testing, and performance analysis from concept through launch, collaborating with global engineers and manufacturing to deliver innovative thermal management solutions.

Based at the Advanced Engineering & Development Center in New Freedom, PA, you will contribute to both new product development and continuous improvement, with relocation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electro-Mechanical engineering.
• 5 years experience with CAD software, product design, prototype testing, and design documentation.
• Experience in design and product development; HVAC/R industry knowledge.
• Preferred knowledge in electrical engineering (motor design, motor control, wiring).
• Strong design background with refrigeration system experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of next-generation data center chillers from concept to launch.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and manufacturing for product improvements.
• Prepare test plans and verify performance and reliability of components and systems.
• Apply regulatory codes (UL, CE, PED, ASME) in product design.
• Generate technical documentation and project status reports.
