Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Staff Engineer – Electrical/VSD SME to lead and participate on global teams driving continuous improvement of electrical systems and VSDs in data center chillers. You will guide design, testing, and service content while coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.

The role requires extensive electrical expertise, collaboration across regions, and travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with significant related work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead execution teams and coordinate resources across functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with internal/external customers.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in multi-functional teams across regions to improve electrical systems and VSD designs for chillers.
• Guide technical teams on complex design issues based on years of product experience and training.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and service groups globally to share best practices and prevent issues.
