The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Electrical Engineering unit, based at 4WTC. You will lead design for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems across diverse transportation assets, supervising staff and consulting partners.

Responsible for ensuring quality, budgets, and schedules, while guiding design-build documents, specs, and commissioning activities.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum of ten years of professional electrical engineering design experience.
• Proficient in contract drawings (power distribution single line, riser, interconnection diagrams, layouts, plans, sections).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience supervising professional and technical staff.
• Valid driver’s license.

Aufgaben

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams in electrical engineering design, including proposals, coordination, scheduling and budgeting.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs and estimates for new electrical systems and alterations of existing structures.
• Develop conceptual design work for Capital Projects and Major Work Programs with cost estimates.
• Produce biddable contract documents (drawings, specs, cost estimates) within budget and schedule.
• Oversee design team including consultants, junior engineers, and CAD staff.
• Perform engineering design, analysis, and economic studies; provide recommendations.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines, facilities, and external entities.
• Audit consultants’ designs for scope, codes, and budget compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of power distribution, control systems, lighting, UPS, and related tech.
• Participate in field commissioning, testing, startup, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
