Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer (Regional/TB&T Transportation Management Plan) to oversee transportation management planning and support for large-scale projects located at 4 World Trade Center. You will coordinate with stakeholders, lead traffic planning efforts, and manage staff and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or Urban Planning.
• Minimum seven years of traffic engineering experience including planning, operation, data analytics, and staffing cost estimates.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and traffic analysis software.
• Working knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO Green Book.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation engineering oversight for Transportation Management Plans and coordinate with PA stakeholders.
• Lead traffic engineering efforts for planning, design, and construction at PA facilities.
• Manage staff and consultants, provide design oversight, ensure conformity to standards.
• Develop and manage traffic-related scopes, budgets, schedules, drawings, and cost estimates; audit documents.
• Apply traffic operations concepts, ITS, traffic signal systems, and countermeasure design.
• Participate in internal and external meetings.
• Prepare staff cost estimates and review consultant proposals.
• Maintain records of project agreements, finances, and reports.
