WSP USA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Northeast Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering Team and work out of our New York, NY office. Join a tight-knit group with the backing of a large firm, delivering high-profile projects from design through construction close-out.

Lead electrical design for transportation facilities, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, perform critical calculations, review plans and estimates, and mentor junior staff while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7 to 10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in building facilities and/or transportation.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, highly preferred.
• Experience with electrical infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including involvement in rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Strong technical writing and proficiency with design software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
• Lead electrical design for transportation facilities including transit stations, tunnels, roadways, ventilation, and power systems.
• Coordinate design activities with multi-discipline teams (mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, architectural).
• Prepare and review electrical calculations for loads, voltage drop, equipment sizing, and short circuit study.
• Develop and review plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and update electrical infrastructure layouts.
• Perform Construction Phase Services including reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, and field visits.
• Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and technical workshops with transportation agencies.
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain QA/QC.
