Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering unit within the Engineering/Architecture Design Division, located at 4WTC. You will lead design for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems, supervise staff and consultants, and deliver design-build documents on major transportation assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of professional electrical engineering design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams in electrical engineering design including proposals, coordination, scheduling, budgeting and briefing senior staff.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs and estimates for construction of electrical systems and alterations to existing facilities.
• Develop design concepts and planning for Capital Projects and Major Work Programs with cost estimates for future funding.
• Produce contract documents including drawings and technical specifications within budget and schedule.
• Supervise design staff and CAD personnel; audit consultant designs for scope, codes, and budget compliance.
• Ensure coordination with other disciplines, facilities, utilities, and external consultants.
• Participate in field commissioning, testing, startup, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
