Job summary

Jobot, a private Civil Engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Chicago team. This permanent role offers the chance to work on transportation projects and CAD-driven design using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Revit alongside skilled engineers and architects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of Electrical Engineer experience with focus on transportation, CAD solutions, MicroStation, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
• Site layout, grading, utility design, regulatory approvals.
• Project management and supervision skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and lead projects.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for projects with focus on transportation and CAD platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to design and implement electrical systems.
• Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
• Inspect installations to ensure compliance with design, equipment specifications, and safety standards.
• Use CAD software to perform engineering tasks.
• Coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, testing to meet specs and customer requirements.
• Prepare and study technical drawings, specs, and topographical maps for conformance.
• Investigate customer or public complaints and recommend remedial measures.
