Job summary

Henderson Engineers in Denver seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead complex building electrical design from concept through completion, coordinating design documents, layouts, and specifications. You’ll mentor designers, guide technical strategy, and support business development while ensuring quality and code compliance.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and delivering integrated electrical solutions within a dynamic, ESOP-owned firm with diverse project types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural).
• 9+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred (required for EOR).
• Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.
• Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, applicable codes and standards, Revit, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large-scale projects.
• Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems, providing discipline-wide technical guidance.
• Mentor and coach across teams and practices, supervising less experienced designers and engineers.
• Participate in staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.
• Provide quality oversight, including final quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
• Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and lead responses to technical questions.
• Lead or support strategic business development and maintain key client relationships.
• Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy and accountability.
