Job summary

SSOE seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead commercial-project design from concept through construction, focusing on power distribution, lighting, grounding, and auxiliary systems for healthcare, education, and corporate facilities.

The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, applying Revit for 3D modeling, and ensuring adherence to NEC and energy codes. Remote work is possible with periodic in-person collaboration near Troy, Michigan.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• PE license preferred.
• Minimum 11 years of related experience at a professional services firm.
• Solid knowledge of NEC and arc-flash studies.
• Experience with Revit and electrical design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering of multiple projects from concept through construction.
• Investigate existing electrical systems to determine scope.
• Assign design tasks to junior staff.
• Design power distribution, lighting, grounding, and studies.
• Utilize Revit for 3D modeling.
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and attend on-site meetings.
• Help develop design standards and specs.
