Merrick & Company seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing unit. Hybrid work options available across Greenwood Village, CO and other U.S. offices. Requires 12+ years in electrical engineering, PE license, and citizenship.

The role covers design, leadership, client interaction, and field support with travel to client sites as needed. Relevant ABET degree preferred and strong knowledge of NEC/IEEE/NFPA/IEC codes.

Qualifications

• Experience developing one-line drawings, control schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC codes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or REVIT.
• PE license required.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• May lead a major project or several projects of moderate scope.
• Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
• Analyze and approve others' work; monitor team performance.
• Design low voltage power, lighting, grounding, motor control, PLC/PAC, HMI, process equipment & instrumentation.
• Interact with clients, officials, contractors.
• Lead project meetings and present findings.
• Perform electrical calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, grounding).
• Develop equipment specifications and datasheets (transformers, switchgear, MCCs).
• Travel to client sites for field walkdowns and as-built efforts.
• Monitor resources to stay within project estimates.
• Coordinate with Design/Engineering Managers to meet schedule and provide documents.
