Job summary

Merrick & Company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing team. This full-time role will support projects across multiple markets with a hybrid work schedule, and relocation is considered.

The successful candidate will lead electrical design efforts, develop drawings, and coordinate with clients and internal teams. Chattanooga, TN is one of several office locations, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

12+ years electrical engineering experience in power/energy/oil & gas or related industrial fields.
Experience developing one-line drawings, control schematics and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC standards.
Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or REVIT or similar design software.
ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering is required.
PE license is required.
U.S. citizenship is required for client projects.

Responsibilities

May lead a major project or several moderate projects with complex features.
Develop electrical design documents and drawings.
Analyze and approve others' work; monitor team performance.
Design low voltage power, lighting, grounding, motor control, PLC/PAC, HMI, instrumentation.
Interact with clients, officials, contractors and others.
Lead project meetings and deliver presentations.
Perform calculations including voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, relay settings.
Develop specs/datasheets for transformers, switchgear, MCCs.
Travel to client sites for field walkdowns and as-builts.
Monitor resources to stay within project estimates.
Coordinate with Design/Engineering Managers to meet schedules.
