Job summary

Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and BIM production for complex projects. The role covers programming through construction administration, coordinating multi-discipline teams, and producing calculations, reports and specifications.

Travel may be required and US citizenship is needed for client work. The ideal candidate has ABET‑accredited electrical/architectural engineering training, 12 years of facility design experience, and a PE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or architectural engineering (ABET accredited).
• Twelve (12) years of experience in facility electrical engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Proficient in REVIT/AutoCAD.
• Extensive knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEE.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for facilities including Government and private clients.
• Provide conceptual/detailed design for power distribution, site power, emergency generation, grounding and lighting, telecoms, fire/life safety, security, and access control.
• Prepare supporting calculations, reports and specifications.
• Meet with clients to validate scope of work and prepare fee proposals.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure schedule and budget.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage the local design team.
