Job summary

Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Boise team on a hybrid schedule. The role covers all phases of engineering production and BIM for complex projects, with responsibilities spanning design, calculations, and client coordination.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, ABET degree, and 8+ years of facility electrical design experience, and are proficient in REVIT/AutoCAD. Travel may be required for client work.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical or architectural engineering.
• 8 years of experience in facility electrical engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Proficient in REVIT/AutoCAD.
• Extensive knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEE.
• Experience with electrical calculation tools (AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, EasyPower).
• Willingness to travel; U.S. Citizenship required for client projects.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for government and private clients.
• Provide conceptual and detailed design for facility power distribution (<=600V) and site power distribution (<=15kV), grounding and lightning protection, lighting, telecom, fire alarm/mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
• Provide supporting calculations, reports and specifications.
• Meet with clients to validate scope of work.
• Prepare fee proposals for engineering design work.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to meet schedule and budget; ensure accuracy of the package.
• Write and edit specifications.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and manage the local team.
